Our Vision

Temple street missionInner City Ministries was primarily set up to bring the Gospel of Salvation to the lost and this vision and commitment has not changed. We are commanded by the great commission (Mat 28:19-20) to go and make disciples; we are given authority to heal, to minister, to cast out demons and to proclaim the Kingdom of God. These are the foundational truths of our mission and we beleive that we, along with all Christians who know and love the Lord Jesus,  are called to live and work in the light of these commands. Not only are our staff commmited to sharing the love and the message of the Kingdom of God with all those who come to our centre, we are also committed to training others to do so, especially our young people, through weekly bible studies, worship and discipleship training.

Local outreach

temple street worshipPart of our Youth ministry and Friday fellowship involves a commitment to outreach in the local area of Jordan and Yau Ma Tei.  We visit local parks where people of all ages particularly from the South Asian ethnic community spend time in the evening.  Another focus for our outreach espoecialy in recent months has been Temple Street, known locally for its outdoor eating and market. In April of this year we held our first outreach involving our young people in Temple Street. Through worship, singing, dance, powerful testimony and  preaching the Word of God was proclaimed. An important part of the outreach is to speak with anyone passing by who may have stopped to listen so that we can share more about the love of Jesus and pray with them. We praise God that two people recommitted their lives to Jesus after a long time "away" from Him and two others also gave their lives to Jesus. dancing in Temple street

HOW YOU can help

Mission to Nepal 2011

"How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent. As it is written 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news' ."  Romans 10:14-15

Jumlah crowd

INDIA : Nine of us from the ICM Youth Fellowship went to India and worked with Hope For All at the slum. We encouraged the slum people in their walk with God by organizing various activities during the day based on the Bible. Every time around 50 people attended. At the other times, we just sat and talked with them. During our stay in Kolkata, we also partnered with Hill Christian Church youth group and organized a gospel concert for the non-Christians. Some gave their lives to Jesus.  The remaining of our time in India, we went to Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Pedong where we did 1-2 open air outreach every day. God moved and many people came in the front repenting of their sins and put their faith in Jesus. At some locations, we worked with the youth groups and had activities based on 'relationships' and ultimately talking about having a relationship with God. It was a fruitful time and God was praised from the lips of all people.

NEPAL : The second half of our time, we took a train to Nepalgunj, Nepal. We formed a new group to go to Nepal. We partnered with some of the evangelists from India, Nepal and FEET, Youth With A Mission, HK. We were 25 in number. We all came from different backgrounds and cultures but we had one thing in common and that was JESUS. We shared the gospel using creative tools such as dances and dramas, shared what God has done in our lives and shared the gospel in the end. We did about 3 outreaches every day in the markets, airports, hotels and possibly everywhere the opportunity arose. The crowds saw the work of God and over 300 people believed in Jesus.

We took a domestic flight to Jumla, where we hiked up the mountains and did door to door evangelism. The villagers were very loving and hospitable that they opened their houses for us to stay. Most of the people in whose houses we stayed at were not even Christians but they welcomed us and every sooner also welcomed Jesus in their hearts. Everywhere we went, we felt God's presence and His leading. He was praised and people received healing from God. Praise God. Our team was touched to see how God used each of us when we obeyed, went for missions and shared the gospel. For some of us, it was our first time sharing the good news and cultivating harvest.
