YOUTH and discipleship
Young people face many challenges in Hong Kong Society and our Youth ministry has been a major influence in changing the lives of a large number of young people especially from our target South Asian community. ICM Youth Ministry is focused on showing the love of Jesus through the sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ with teenagers and young adults. Our primary aim is to disciple them through both short term and long-term training in ministry, mission and bible studies. Through our weekly activities, individual prayer and counseling, our partnership with YWAM in the DTS programme, and regular outreach we encourage our young people to be leaders in worship, ministry and mission both locally and in India and Nepal.
Friday Youth Fellowship
Our Youth ministry started in 2008 under the direction of Ebson Simick who joined the ICM staff for this purpose. A gifted musician and passionate worship leader with a strong heart for evangelism Ebson soon began to draw around him those with a desire for music and worship. Through his prayerful witness and example Ebson has continued to use the focus upon worship to form a distinct Youth Ministry which now involves Tryfina (Ebson's wife) and Jenny our office administrator and which has become a training ground for mission
Music and worship have paved a way
to have non-Christian young adults to come every
Friday and worship Jesus. Friday fellowship is open
to all and follows a simple pattern of worship,
bible study and fellowship with snacks - a time to
share and a time for individual prayers if needed.
Through this simple pattern, many have given their lives to Jesus
during individual
gospel sharing after fellowship. Today, approxi young adults come every Friday for the
fellowship. We are always overjoyed to welcome new
Christians to our fellowship and we praise God for
the desire we see in these new young Christians to
hear more of Jesus in his word and to worship Him
regularly.
Discipleship training
Mini Discipleship Training
School (Mini DTS): DTS is a
school to train and equip young people into knowing
the heart of God for themselves as well as for the
others. International speakers speak on subjects
such as: the Character of God, Father heart of God,
Cost of Discipleship, Breaking down strongholds,
Spiritual Warfare, Evangelism and Missions,Worship.
It is a time for an individual to develop a personal
relationship with God through personal quiet times
with God. We hold DTS program every summer for 2
weeks followed by outreach and missions.

Bible Study
Every Wednesday, we have Bible
Study led by Inner City Ministries Director Martin
Radford which gives our people a time to open the
word of God and understand it. Besides corporate
Bible Study, personal Bible Study is also carried on
by our Youth staff on one and one basis during the
week nights.
Outreach and Missions
We encourage our youth to pass
on the message of the gospel to their neighbours for
which we do an open air outreach in the streets and
parks of Hong Kong every once in two months. We also
go for outreach in India and Nepal along with our
eligible youths whom we have trained on missions and
take them to share the gospel of God to the places
where people have not been reached with the gospel.
Children's ministry
Children are the most vulnerable group in
any society particularly where families are faced
with poverty, difficult living conditions and high
unemployment.
Children coming from families who are strugglling often
have emotional and learning issues which we help
them overcome. We provide a safe and affirming
environment in which all children are made welcome
particularly after school each day and on saturdays
when they are left to fend for themselves. Staff
and volunteers actively encourage children to come
to the centre rather than spend hours in local parks
where they are "at risk".
EDUCATION
Children from ethnic minorities can experience learning problems at school principally because of language difficulty and differences in culture. This is especially true of South Asian children attending local schools here in Hong Kong. ICM provides after school classes and tution for children from 5pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week. We have an amazing group pf volunteers working with the children on their languages skills, maths, science, various homework assignments. The children really benefit from the almost one to one tuiotion they receive, but more than just this - they receive practical love and care as well as quite firm discipline and a sense of boundaries. There is a wholseome family atmosphere and the children feel wanted.
SATURDAY KID'S CLUB
Kid's club happens every Saturday from 1.30pm to 4pm and is open to children who
register with us. It operetates in a simlar way to Sunday schools in manny
churches, there are games, songs stories and drama all of which are based upon
the Bible. There is a
NEW CURRICULUM for
2012 based on the faithweaver series. Themes and bible
passages for the current month can be downloaded below.Kids club has a regular attandance of about 50 children and is
